I woke up in the morning, not normally as I daily do, but with heavy eyes and lazy body. I was dreaming just before I woke up. They say morning dreams always come true. It was a long road as if some newly built concrete high way but there were only grass and trees on both sides of roads. We were a large group. Amongst the faces I remember, all were family members, very close ones. I don’t remember to see ma and pa. I was coming from the far end of the road towards them. And suddenly it started raining and I felt some kind of music in my ear, I don’t know was it the music of rain or something within me. But the beats were loud like bhangra in jab we met song nagada and I could not stop myself from dancing. As I started dancing, with me other also started then I realize its only the music of rain. Everybody was enjoying, laughing and dancing. And I was waking up to a wonderful morning.

Do we always need materialistic things to make us happy or to enjoy or to laugh? No it is always within us. We only have to listen to it. Sometimes it needs some kind of stimulator. As in above case it was rain. We will not need this stimulator the day we start loving ourselves. We will always be content. If I am happy the whole world will be happy too.

  1. Very well captured thoughts. I agree that to be happy, one need to be content from within. External environment can help you sometimes to just stimulate your feelings but it is not the reason to make you feel happy.
If I relate it to Porter's five forces model then you will realize that
Your internal content is nothing but your core competency. And the external environment works like sellers/buyers or more to say competitors.
If you are having an advantage in terms of competitve forces but wont have any core competency then you might not be able to survive in long term.

Thats very true in case of happiness with the materialistic things. Have you ever realized for how many days a new gadget makes you happy or for how many days your new possession makes you thrilled.
But at the same time dont try to think that being content is being uncompetitive. Its not like that. One has to be a warrior in the battlefield but if he would be content then battle would be half won already.
This is what Lord Krishna in GITA teaches us too.
